It's so easy to send texts using Pharmlogic!

Let's take a look!

First, head to your homepage on Pharmlogic, and navigate into RxScan.

Text by Scanning

  1. On the Send SMS screen, you'll be greeted with the Smart Entry box.

Here, you can:

  1. Scan a prescription token's barcode
This will add the prescription to your workflow, and it'll be ready to send a text to.

  2. Scan a prescription bag label
If your PMR supports Bag Labels with barcodes, you can scan that here, too!

  3. Enter or paste a patient's NHS number
Straight away, we'll grab the patient's NHS record, which you'll confirm is the correct one.

  4. Search for patients by surname, first name
If you've texted a patient before, they'll be saved to your pharmacy's Pharmlogic database, and you can text them again, just by typing in their surname, followed by their first name.

  5. Search for patients by date of birth
Again, we'll look for patients you've texted before with the same date of birth, and you can choose to send them a text

Text by Finding a new Patient

So what happens when you have a private prescription or a handwritten prescription without a barcode? Or what if you want to text a patient whose NHS number you don't have?!

Simply hit the Plus button next to the Smart Entry box, where you can search for a patient's NHS record by their Surname and Date of Birth.

Want to save time? You can easily enter the Date of Birth in any format, including:

d/m/yyyy, dd/m/yyyy, d/mm/yyyy, or dd/mm/yyyy

Master Tech Tip

When finding patients, use the Tab key on your Keyboard to switch to the next input, and Enter to search for the patient.
